⏰ Artificial urgency: 'your account will be deleted'
Deadlines exist in scams for one reason: so you react before you think.
How the scam works
- The message claims your account will be deleted, suspended or charged 'within 24 hours'.
- The only way out offered is a link or a code — controlled by the scammer.
- Real services never delete accounts without in-app warnings and a proper login.
Red flags
- Countdowns and 'final warnings' in messages
- Threats of deletion combined with a link
- Payment requests to 'save' an account
What to do
- Close the message. Open the official app or type the website yourself.
- Check account status only through official channels.
- Breathe — no legitimate action expires in 24 hours via a DM.
